Comments:

K3CCR is the club station at the Collington continuing-care
retirement community at FM 18OW in MD, just east of DC. N3UM and
W3GB did Multi-2 in the Aug. 2020 NAQP CW, with 6 feet between
chairs and a plexiglas shield.

Our goal was to beat our best August NAQP CW claim, 754 Qs and 126.7 K
in 2019. We did that, differently; 90% as many mults, but 125% as
many Qs. We got 12% more Qs on 20 and on 80 M, but 79% more on 40 M!
Kp was 1, QRN low, and SFI enough to keep 40 M wide open till 06Z.

As we have done well with before, N3UM mostly ran while W3GB clicked
spots for mults and always-CQing stations. W3GB got 31% of total Qs
but just over 1/2 the mults, 3.8 Qs/mult vs N3UM’s 8.9 Qs/mult.

At start W3GB checked 15 M but made no Qs, going quickly to 40 M
while N3UM ran on 20 M. We got 334 total Qs 18-22Z, 83.5/hr.
W3GB then took over 20 M; N3UM had supper and came back and got
on 40 M at 2330Z. We got 82 Qs total 22-00Z.

Total rate was far better 00-03Z, 304 Qs, 101/hr! N3UM ran well on
40 M, and W3GB got on 80 M at 01Z, doing very well on a fresh band.

Just 49 Qs 03-04Z; 80 and 40 M slowed. And, N3UM tried 160 M at
0315Z. AARGH! No signals, high SWR. Vertical wire of our T antenna
probably broke at the feed point. Cranked the roller inductor in
the tuner ‘way over, loaded the 40 M beam, and scraped up 11 Qs and
9 mults in 30 min. It felt like doing QRP with a wire in the attic.

Much more fun 04-06Z; 186 Qs and 10 mults, N3UM on 80 M, W3GB on 40 M.

On all bands, we got 8 VE Pvs plus DC and 47 states, all but DE, ND,
and WV. We got 17 fewer mults this year than in Aug. 2019. This was
because we got 0 vs 6 mults on 15 M and 12 vs 23 mults on 160 M.
