Comments:

I did a fair bit of DXing rather than contesting trying to pick up some 10m DXCC
for 2020. 160m on Saturday night was absolutely the best I had heard for at
least 7 years with many EU stations with S/N ratio of 15dB or more. RX was a
rotatable 40m shortened dipole with a W7IUV pre-amp. Pre-amp in the shack and
rotatable dipole only at 17m up. I live in the suburbs with noise sources a
plenty. Amazing signals as EU went through sunset. But alas not many could hear
a VK 16,000kms away underneath the cacophony of local EU. Only 3 QSOs and no new
ones on top band for me. Good fun with my best score ever in a CQWW CW. I am not
a great CW op... much more to learn.
