Comments:

Always a fun contest! Modest goal was 386 Q's to finish the Lifetime Achievement
Award which I passed midnight Friday. Had NT and AK in the log, so went for the
sweep and finally got the last one (MAR) at 5 pm Saturday. Then it was just
trying to stay awake and keep my spot on the online scoreboard.

I kept thinking about the relative skills for CW and FT8. With S&P using a
bandmap, call history, CW macros, and computer logging, about the only extra
skill required for CW is recognizing your call at 30 WPM. The rest is just
pressing a couple of keys over and over. When running, you also need to copy the
other call and type it in correctly, both skills I acquired 60+ years ago. So I
don't see much difference.

We could level the playing field and force people to develop more skills by just
not allowing S&P in contests. Or how about a special class where you show
your skills by doing the contest blindfolded with your hands tied behind your
back? I'm fine with people doing whatever they most enjoy. It's just a hobby.
