Comments:

My first exposure to home operation was very nice. Now I see why the 6m ops at
W3CCX rarely want to share the seat with guest ops. For the past 20 years I have
built and operated at W3CCX, but the year we were unable to bring the crowd to
the mountain. So we operated from home.
My youngest grandchildren, ages 12 to 18 decided to have a sleepover. At that
age, you don't want to deny, as it will likely be the last time they request it.
Consequently, my operating time was severely limited.
Saturday afternoon was spent diagnosing why no one heard my 144 signal, only to
find a cable (RG393) had been pulled out of the DIN crimp connector. Ram it back
in, and off to the races. Until the grandkids arrive.
When six was open, it was open with a vengeance. EU on Saturday and US on
Sunday. I love operating CW during these openings, it reminds me of HF contests.
I spent my time equally between the three modes. Even attempted FT4, which was
extremely enjoyable to pull off contacts so fast. Fun Mode.
Next year we'll be at the mountain again, but when they yell that six is open,
I'll put my name on the operator list to get a piece of the action.
