Comments:

I sure missed the camaraderie of our club Field Day, but decided to use the
event as a way to test running 100 W from batteries. To ensure I wasn't wasting
my time, I ran as 1D. After 2 hours + my 160 AH of VRLA batteries with a 20 W
PV charger on them dropped low enough in voltage that the Elecraft K3 was having
trouble making 100 W, so I reverted to AC Mains power for the rest of the
event.

I lost several run spots due to taking care of an incontinent dog...and I have
to apologize to W1IS for mistakenly operating on his run freq and thinking he
was doing the same to me...duh....I was in split and in my daze I must have
changed frequency. My apologies to Robert, I'll try harder in the future.

I have had several high-wind events successfully keep my Beverages broken on the
ground, so I did not have them to use. This killed my ability to hear on 160
and 80 and to a lesser extent 40 M. 20 M was the money band for me!

Thank you to all who put up with my requests for repeats, I hope to have better
antennas in the future.

Cheers & 73,
Howie / WA4PSC
