2 x K3 + Amplifiers
Inv V fan Dipole for 40/80 @ 18m

A quick BERU report from here. I had no intention of doing this contest at all
seriously with the only Tx antenna left working after the storms being a 40/80m
dipole fed with over 100m of coax – but – as usual – I got sucked in by
the fun of BERU. I did a little over 10 hours fitted around domestic duties and
even a long RSGB meeting.

Missed some good times on 20/40 with other commitments. Great sunset opening on
80 to VK. Found conditions to VE very good on 40/80 around 0100/0200 as well –
but dipole was not an optimal antenna – so several stations heard well but not
completed with. I found the morning open to ZL on 80 not so fantastic.

A little life on 15. 10m – just G6XX, GM6XX and GB5CC – thank you folks for
moving there!

With the single Tx antenna I had only very limited SO2R capability. Just a bit
clunky on 40/80 with lots of switch turning to swap radios on Tx – but the
K9AY is pretty useless as an Rx antenna on the high bands..

Thanks to all for the QSOs and the moves.

73,

Andy, G4PIQ
