FT-8 is a *HORRIBLE* contest mode.  The band was wide open, yet nobody would use
CW or SSB.  This might be the last VHF/UHF/Microwave contest I ever operate.

FT-8 may be a fine mode for very weak signals, but it is *HORRIBLE* for
contests.
