Comments:
Excellent conditions, Friday SFI=106 first night, Saturday SFI=110 and Sunday
SFI=116.
Moved WA7LNW RBN CW Skimmer to remote site ahead of contest. It was connected
to a Cushcraft R-7 vertical and 8 position 80/160 BOG receiving antenna. Low
noise environment at this remote location made a huge difference in the number
of CW spots generated. Well over 5,000 spots per hour at peak of contest.
Hard to stay seated in front of my radio with our nice weather here in
southwestern Utah. Managed to remain awake the entire first night and through a
good share of Saturday. Got back on for last few hours on Sunday.
Excellent participation given so few DXpeditions. Thanks to those who did
travel specifically for CQWW.
Station: HF remote K3 Twins,KPA-500, HEX beam @ 60 feet, wire antennas for
40-8-160. Eight (8) position wire BOG receiving antenna on 160-80 meters.
Used W7CXX, our Collins Aerospace station call sign.
Looking forward to next weekend's ARRL 160 Meter Contest.
73 Jack, WA7LNW
