Comments:

Some miracle- the SteppIR tuned on 40 a few days ago, so I kept it turned on. 
Seems to be an S unit better than the inverted vee which is about 20 feet lower.
 Not too much activity, and not enough guys calling to keep up the good rate. 
0330Z had 79 QSOs, but noticed fewer signals on the band.  At 0337Z went to 80. 
Good signals but still a lot of CQ without answers.  Fortunately a few W9s were
on for the short skip.

It was a ground hog day again - calling places that have poor customer service -
Sprint, gutter company, fence company for the pipe to mount the 80 meter 4
square...
