Comments:

K3CCR is the club station at the Collington continuing-care
retirement community at FM 18OW in MD, just east of DC. N3UM and
W3GB operated Multi-Op HP in the 12/20 Stew Perry, as we last
did in 12/17.

For Dec. Stews 2016, 2018, and 2019 W3GB was away. N3UM did SOHP,
and in all 3 years he got an absurdly consistent 225 to 236 Qs in
4 hrs. 21-01Z, mostly running. Then, 01-06+Z there were fewer Qs,
but more pts/Q and points.

When in 12/17 we did Multi, we took short turns. N3UM ran for 1 of
4 hrs. 21-01Z and we got only 145 Qs. But, 01-06+Z we got 160 Qs a
nd 2X the pts/Q. So, our 2020 plan was for N3UM to run 21-0130Z
and W3GB to tune for high-point Qs 0130-06+Z.

At start, the plan went well. N3UM ran for 295 Qs 21-0130Z, 93%
of them out to 930 miles at 1-3 pts/Q, but also 7 EUs, plus 2
W-coast 7-pointers.

But, after 0130Z the plan died; we got NO more EUs, one 7-pt and
two 8-pt Qs, and a KH6. In 2017, same gear and ops, we got a typical
total 19 EU Qs and 19 7- and 8-pt Qs, vs 7 of each type in 2020!

Propagation was just not there this year for even a typical
number of late high-point Qs, much less the 85 EUs we worked in
Dec. 2019 Stew. Top-band can be like that; feast or famine.
