I had no real goals going in, thinking it would be nice to better my PB of 6.1m,
never even considering I might hit 9m. Also had no idea what propagation might
be like. Strategy was to maximize points on 40/20 with bursts to the other
bands when it got slow. It was a wonderful thing to fall into the unusual
combination of good long haul propagation and really excellent short skip on all
bands and things fell right into the strengths of my antennas. The second
night, the loudest stations on 40 were 8/9's.
I got tired Sunday afternoon and struggled getting serial numbers entered
correctly - broke my rule of doing tower work the day of the contest and paid
for it. I expect Bud and The Boys will give this score a decent haircut.
A little surprised there weren't more Asians around on 20, propagation seemed to
be decent.
Thanks for all the contacts and apologies to my victims - I did battle with the
keyboard a few times.
