lOOKING OVER THE EXCELLENT HIGH CLAIMED SCORES WE CONGRATULATE ALL THOSE WHO
BUILT THE SUPER STATIONS WITH MULTI ELEMENT ANTENNAS ETC. WE KNOW THAT TAKES
MUCH WORK, MUCH FINANCES AND MAINTENANCE AND THE SCORES CERTAINLY SHOW IT. WE
HOWEVER WERE WORKING WITH A 5 ELEMENT HOME BREWED BEAM AT 38 FEET ON 6 METERS
AND A NEW, JUST INSTALLED MONDAY, HOME BREWED 2 ELEMENT, OMNI DIRECTIONAL,
HORIZONTALLY POLARIZED, 6 METER PHASED ARRAY CENTER AT 67 FEET WHICH PREFORMED
WELL BEYOND ANY OF OUR EXPECTATIONS. USING PSK REPORTER AND THE ARRAY WE KNEW
ALMOST IMMEDIATELY WHERE WE WERE BEING HEARD AND WHAT DIRECTIONS PROPAGATION WAS
GOING TO. THOSE PROPAGATION POINTS OUT PAST THE NORMAL CIRCLE OF THE ARRAY
COVERAGE WE POINTED THE BEAM AND WORKED THOSE STATIONS. THE ARRAY PROBABLY
WORKED 75% OF OUR Q's. AMAZINGLY WE DID WORK EUROPEANS ON THE ARRAY BUT MOSTLY
FROM MARYLAND WE WORKED MD, VA, NC, PA, NY, WV, OH, DE, RI, AND NJ, WHICH IS NOT
BAD FOR A QTH ONLY BEING 140 FEET ABOVE SEA LEVEL AND IN THE MIDDLE OF OUTER
NOISY SUBURBIA! TWO METERS WAS ONCE AGAIN THE HOME BREWED 2 ELEMENT,
HORIZONTAL, PHASED ARRAY AT 87 FEET CENTER. IF THERE WAS ANY SSB OR CW ON TWO
WE MISSED IT WHEN IT WAS THERE BUT NOT FOR A LACK OF TRYING. PROPAGATION ON
TWO METERS SEEMED TO BE MORE NORTH EAST AND SOME WEST IN THIS CONTEST WITH
MINIMAL LONG PROPAGATION SOUTH OR SOUTH WEST. WE DID GET OUT AS FAR AS OH, CT,
MA, ME, AND NC WITH JUST 100 WATTS AND OUR ONMI DIRECTIONAL ARRAY. IN THIS VHF
CONTEST 6 METERS WELL OUT PERFORMED 2 METERS. THIS WAS THE HIGHEST VHF SCORE
FOR THIS CREW FROM THIS STATION SINCE WE STARTED VHF CONTESTING FROM HERE ABOUT
4 YEARS AGO AND WE ARE VERY PLEASED WITH OUR SCORE. WE ALL HAD A GREAT TIME.
TNX TO THE MANY STATIONS WHO CONTACTED US AND WE HOPE TO HEAR YOU AGAIN IN JULY
AND SEPTEMBER! 73 FROM THE CREW WA3EKL N3DPB WT3K KB3VQC K3LU K6ZO K3MTR
