Comments:

Thanks to Tim N6WIN for hosting us this weekend. He has put a ton of work into
the station over the last year, and this weekend was a culmination of all that
work. This was the first time we have done a M/M from this station. There are
a few things that need to be done to improve the station for next time, but
overall everything worked quite well. Conditions were down overall, but we were
very happy with the final results.

Marty, NN1C, arrived on Monday before the contest to start upgrading the
station. He installed a MOAS II system and a "science project" for 20
and 40. This allowed us to choose any antennas or beverages on either band for
both radios. This was a huge success and none of this would have happened
without the help of Marty and Bill W9KKN. Levi, out of no where, taught us how
to use the 7610's in "diversity" RX mode, fully taking advantage of
the MOAS driven RX antennas with the TX antenna simultaneously being in another
ear.

Chris KL9A flew down from MT and joined us for the first time. He made a few
Q's here and there and we were happy to have him on the team. Levi K6JO just
quietly sat in the corner at the beginning of the contest and put in a great
start on 40m. John W4IX was our secret weapon and he put in more hours than
anyone. We were able to keep all the radios manned all 48 hours and this
wouldn't have happened without John putting in all the time. Marty NN1C had to
leave town after the first 10 hours so we made sure he had plenty of op time
before he left. I think he learned a few things about operating from the West
Coast. Tim, N6WIN took many of the harder low rate shifts including day time on
40m the 2nd day. He made plenty of people happy on the ND7K Friendship net on
40m and I think we finally found his calling. Bill W9KKN was our tech wizard
and made sure everything worked and he did his job well. He also made a ton of
Q's and we were lucky to have him on the team.

Even though NR6O decided to "compete against themselves" we put in a
full effort knowing that they were going to be QRV in the M/M category. They
have routinely put in great scores in the M/M category over the years so we
figured we would give them a run for their money. We fell a little short of our
main goal, but were very happy with the results. I hope that we can compete
with them again in the future as we really enjoyed this contest.

Thanks to everyone for the Q's!

73,

Dan N6MJ for team ND7K
