Comments:

Operated portable/expedition from the town of Republic in Ferry County, WA,
running 100w with a G5RV up 25ft.  My portable station was located in a valley
with an open downward slope to the south but with a high ridge blocking my
signal towards the east.  While my antenna and the local topography were
non-ideal, operating from a rare county seems to have boosted the response rate
to my CQs by 10dB.
