Comments:
First and foremost a huge thanks to the CQ WPX committee for the insight in
implementing the M/M Distributed category. Brilliant!
The best part about the new M/M distributed is formulating a plan and assembling
a team of operators. About a month prior to the contest we asked if anyone
wanted to join our WW1X team in WPX CW by announcing it on Facebook. Instantly
we received requests from around the world. To operate with us, the operator
must be proficient at CW, hold a valid FCC license and be willing to try
something new. Once we got past the first three hurdles, it just came down to
reliable ISP for the local operator. In this event the team of operators were
sitting in Japan, Hungary, Italy, Netherlands and the USA.

With our WW1X team set, we created a contesting slack channel to communicate
with each other. Two weeks prior to the contest we sent a notification over
slack that we created a WPX Team operating console. We specifically asked the
new team members to evaluate the system with the WW1X test logger on the
W1/Jonesport site. First impressions are always the best! The youths on the team
inside slack were helping the OM's how to use this new innovating technology. It
was fun to watch the young and the OM's coming together for a mutual goal.

Each and every operator on this team came to play, it was great to participate
with a team of operators eager to get in the hot seat. This is called operating
the “Glass Cockpit” experience.

The first hour we netted 511 Q's for 600K points, we knew instantly this would
be a formidable team!
All eleven of the Flex 6600’s performed brilliantly, its amazing on E’s how
well these radios perform.
This was from my perspective as a spectator on my off time. This video
highlights how the logger (visual) in the cloud works with the lockout. We can
watch in realtime who is doing what and where. https://youtu.be/Os7s-Y_gngY
Cloud Contesting:
Lee WW2DX did a fantastic presentation this year at CTU 2021 on how all this
works. https://youtu.be/q-esob7BPtc?t=962
We are going to see some amazing scores in WPX M/M distributed around the world.
No doubt, this category is going to stick around!
As always, thanks to Rockwell WW1X and Lee WW2DX for this incredible in the
cloud remote operating experience!
73,
On behalf of the WW1X team de Ray W2RE
