Comments:
I'm not sure why, but my hourly rates and grand total fell considerably from
last year, despite the much improved conditions. But it sure was nice to work a
sweep -- VO1MP called me right at sunset on 20, which made my day.
I usually like to travel to W7RN super station in NV for this contest, but I'm
still being extra cautions because of the Delta variant of COVID-19, so I'm
trying to limit travel as much as possible. I'm fully vaccinated, but the
effectiveness apparently wanes after 6 months, which is right about now. I'm
glad "the young guy" W9KKN was able to do a fine job from that station
again this year.
I continue to be pleased with the pileup handling performance of the new
Elecraft K4. The received audio still sounds just great. It's a solid
performer.
