Comments:
A few sunspots and having no equipment problems makes for a very happy
contester! Super thankful to be able to run the best CW contest of the year,
even if guys with dipoles on the east coast whipped me.
It was also nice to see some more multipliers on the air this time. (Few in my
log though, as you can see above). Just about any time you operate the WW there
is a rush of some kind -- the end is sometimes more exciting than the beginning!
And can anything top the rush of getting some of those double mults in the
log?
With casual operating becoming extinct, it is so gratifying to hear thousands of
CW signals filling the bands wall to wall. We are indeed "still
there."
Low bands were amazing. Had some short runs to EU on 80 even. On Saturday
night there was an hour when I simply heard everything in Europe on 160,
including zone 17 as well. Unfortunately none of them heard me. But I will
never forget it.
Saturday was much better on 20/15 to Europe. My band scope was pretty full on
20 almost two hours before sunrise the first day. But rates on 20 were better
during the shorter opening on 20 on Sunday, perhaps just because it wasn't as
frantic.
Of course, it was Asian and especially JA that carried the freight. Thanks to
everyone who got on the air and made this contest special.
