Comments:

A long-planned trip to a great hilltop location in EA7. In spite of all the
preparation in advance, I hadn't factored in that the weather might suddenly
change. A late arrival to the QTH gave me just enough time to set up the antenna
and test it was working fine, before heading off for some pre-contest sleep. I
was woken before the start of the contest to the sound of a howling gale. I got
on the radio and was able to make zero QSOs in QRP, which had been the original
plan, so I went LP, and even so, the QSOs were all very hard going.

I found out after breakfast that one of the masts had collapsed in the strong
winds and that the antenna was hanging vey low and almost touching the rooftop
in places. The wind was too strong to thing about any remedial action. As a
final blow, during the day the continous heavy gusts snapped the antenna and put
paid to the rest of the contest. So, maybe better luck in the CW leg.

Thanks to those who took the time to patiently complete the QSO. Best DX heard
here was KH6M, best DX worked I think was VE2IM in zone 2.
