Comments:

The Radio Oakley team bettered last year's score by more than 40%, thanks to
much improved condx on 15 and 10m. Of course that was at the expense of 160 and
80m condx and activity. All radios and internet remoting worked well, two
antenna problems. Good to have half the team in the shack, as Covid issues are
declining.

Here's who did what:

K3EST(onsite) and K6AW(remote) shared shifts all weekend on 20 and 10m. Steve
commented "Friday night conditions were good but noting very surprising on
10 - both bands closed early, Saturday was the best day of the weekend. 20 was
good early and stayed open a long time, 10 started good and became special with
an extended JA opening, On Sunday 20 seemed pretty flat compared to the previous
day. It was hard to get any real runs going and even S&P was difficult. 10
was good again and provided lots of Q's and mults." And Bob commented
"Condx on 10 open slightly to Europe. As far as F. On Sunday a nice opening
to Scandinavia around noon. The JAs had good signals but not lots. 20 was good
to JA for many hours. On Sunday morning between about 7-11 condx to Europe were
really fantastic. Signals were mostly 599. First VK was VK2 long path; SP to VK
Friday and Saturday didn't exist. Nice to again socialize with the ops in
person!" These guys are a great team!

N6RO led off on 160m working the few Carib stations heard. Poor prop and
activity on the first night. I had a decent JA/UA0 opening on Sunday AM, tho
activity was weak, and terrible rapid QSB. Bagged 33 JAs, but no other Asia,
VK/ZL, EU/AF all weekend. The TX 4SQ developed an arcing problem Sat. night,
eventually fixed, making three trips to the tower, in the dark, to tighten
support ropes, which temporarily fixed the problem in time for the JA opening.
Made a few EU Qs on 40m in the last 30 minutes, and brewed the traditional
contest chili on Sat.

N6WM(remote) commented "15m Fri and sat- exceptionally good 15m conditions
at the start with a steady stream of Asia pac/oc stations till well after
sunset. On sat morning daybreak, European stations could be s and p and as the
morning progressed was able to run EU for some time. Saturday afternoon the
Asia pac conditions were quite good with many stations reporting 5-50w power
levels. I ended on sat eve with over 700 qsos,"

WA6O(onsite) worked 40m, starting 4 hours in, until well after sunrise on
Sunday. EU openings were best around our SR, but workable until abt 07z.
"Iron Mike" essentially equaled last year's QSO total, but bagged more
mults.

WX5S(remote) led off Friday eve on 40m, logging a pile of EU mults. Matt then
took over 80m later, working til dawn. He did the overnight shift into Sunday
AM, with a fair JA total and two good Asia mults at sunrise. 80m condx to EU
were better than expected, but could only hear the big stations.

WU6P(onsite) did the 160m late shift Saturday AM, and the early shift Sat eve.
He also did some time on 80m. Then Nian manned 15m all day Sunday, logging
everything heard, tho condx were not as good as on Saturday. He also donated a
first class coffee brewer to the station. He is a great addition to our team!

All in all, it was a fine time, good result, and minimum problems. We also
tracked down a serious interstation interference problem that we need to fix.
So, CU next time! 73, N6RO
