Comments:

All in all a good contest in many respects. Propagation was good and we dodged
the ice and rain moving into our area Saturday. There were a couple of noisy
times and that may have been some charged clouds moving through. Activity was
good and most everyone took about the same 6 hours off. You could tell when NFL
football was on but the last few hours picked up when it opened to EU on 40 and
JA on 20.

No problems that I know of during the contest. MMTTY was used for the primary TX
and both MMTTY and 2Tone decoding. I always ran on one band and interleaved with
the second band. Sometimes it was useful do alternating CQs. It would be nice if
some operators would take a few seconds to see if the frequency is busy before
launching a CQ and then wonder why there is QRM. Occasionally there was some
soul that would put a carrier on one of my tones to just annoy me. There is also
some digital crud that would appear out of nowhere and just take up a few KHz of
the bands. Kind of like SSTV but digital. Seemed intentional.....

Thanks to some good online competition from N6WM and a few others I was able to
focus and likely broke the Central Division record. Nothing like some friendly
competition to keep you on your toes! I am surprised that any assisted operator
is not online...they are probably watching our scores though.

Missed NT and NU...

The only negative thing was the onset of a cold that just got worse and worse. A
good thing that I was a single operator! Maybe its COVID? It is a good thing
this is a RTTY contest or I would have shut down the radio.

See you in the next one!

73, Craig K9CT
