Comments:
While I don't support the ANALOG ONLY category, I do support running rate on
SSB.
I was pleased to see so much SSB (..and CW) activity and wonder if it was the
new category or people finally seeing the shortcoming of 100% FT8 at 50/hr when
everyone is 20-over-9 on the same 'channel'.
I still think ALL-MODE and DIGITAL ONLY categories, with all the subcategories
is the solution. Allow ALL-MODE ops to make one Q on any analog mode and one Q
on any digital mode with each station. ANALOG ONLY is disallowing use of a
score enhancing mode called MSK144 - meteor scatter is a decades old way of
increasing your score !
I was told allowing 2 Qs per station would "make the score records
meaningless". But, every time the ARRL adds a section, a new multiplier is
created in the November Sweepstakes, which is a premier ARRL contest. This
makes all past records meaning less and I don;t see any complaints about that.
HF contesters don't have to deal with multi-mode contests - stop messing up VHF
contests ! Anyway, nobody reads these comments... :)
