Comments:
My second full effort in row. It is amazing to see how a small pistol station
can play (well, almost) against big guns :-)
I've tried to improve some hardware/antennas here...
- Erected a Spiderbeam Beam (20/15/10m) at 7m height as second Beam. Actually,
too low, there is a way to erected it up to 10m, but, next time...
- 80m antenna switching box died two days prior to the contest (Vacuum Relay).
Spare part is on the way, erected a 18m Spiderbeam Pole (GP) several hours prior
to the contest, not far away from 80/160m GP. Fun fact: I worked TY on 80m as
new multiplier, but missed EA Spain :D Last year 80m was winning band here.
- On 40m I've used 2 Spiderbeam Poles as 2 el. Array (east<>west). Worked
very well despite funny 40m CONDX.
- On 20/15/10 I've used LZA 10/5 Beam (2 el per Band, 10m high), as well as
Spiderbeam HD Beam (7m high). Actually a good thing for a quick switch, but I've
expected more. Bands were good, guess moved too fast at the beginning of the
contest from 10 to 15m. Surprised call on 15m from KH6AQ.
Flexradio 6600, PGXL, DXLog
A nice online race between DJ4MX and DR5X. Congratulation to Lovric Jr. DJ4MX,
you are even better than Lovric Sr. DJ2MX :D
Thanks to all who helped me: my family (antennas erecting and dismantling,
catering), Rudi DK7PE - hardware (4SQ 40m Switch), DL0MZ DARC Chapter OV Mainz
and Chairman Chris, DK2CL (Hardware Spiderbeam HB Beam, Coax Cables, Rotor
etc.), Franz, DF6QV with great support around 4SQ switch and how to use it for 2
el Array GPs.
CU next year!
Zik DK8ZZ
