Comments:

This summer I completely ignored the radio since the summer Stew and
Field Day. I had to focus on rebuilding my deck and removing antennas
from the house so that the contractor can replace the roof and siding
damaged by a hail storm in the spring. Removing the deck required
disconnecting all of my antennas which are fed through a hole under
the deck. After the deck removal there was lots of sheathing and rim
joist rehabilitation which is still ongoing. The new siding goes up
the Monday after this contest.

Therefore I had to temporarily reconnect the 160 antennas and as soon
as I get done with this report I must go disconnect those antennas and
make the cables safe from pointy ladders and sharp contractor boots.

Conditions seemed very short at the start with no trace of Europe and
really no long haul stuff for quite a while. Later in the evening I
worked a few Caribbean stations and I thought maybe DR5X called a
couple of times but he has just a ghost.

I worked a KF0 who gave me NE01 for his grid. I don't know how he
came up with that grid but I'll take the 37 points. Ha! I changed it
to NX01 which should be rejected by log checking.

After 0500Z I worked OM3GI and OM2XW for my only Europeans. Their
signals were not bad.

The rate dropped a lot by 0530Z so I napped for 4.5 hours.

The morning was much busier than normal. I heard VK6GX working K2KW
so I parked a short distance up the band and CQed. VK6VZ called me
for my only QSO west of CM87.

DX worked: KP2, OM (2), P4, VK, and ZF (2) for a total of 5 entities.

Equipment: Elecraft K3S/100, P3, K3/100, P3, Alpha 8410; 2 arrays of
short verticals, computer and SDR and beam steering software; 900-foot
Beverage, 60-foot 'tee' antenna with very droopy top-hat wires over 75
120-foot radials (some no longer connected); homebrew SO2R and audio
routing stuff, and Writelog.
