Comments:

Rig : Flex Radio 6400 / Maestro

         Antennas : C31XR @ 108ft at the remote, A3S @ 30ft at the local rig.

We had our WCF Section convention hamfest this weekend, so no Saturday operation
from me.

Switched back and forth between the Tampa ARC remote when it was not in use by
other club members and my personal transceiver here at home. In some cases, the
Tampa ARC antenna was too high and missed local signals. The A3S at home was
very strong stateside, especially into the northeast USA. The stations are 8
miles apart running identical Flex 6400 transceivers. Interesting comparison.

I was told I was off frequency by 3 callers on SSB when I was operating on
28.507.450 Seriously, how can we get these people to understand that this is not
CB and we all have variable frequency oscillators that have 1Hz resolution? This
CHANNELIZATION of amateur radio HF frequencies is really beyond my
understanding. TURN THE BIG KNOB IN THE CENTER OF THE CONTROL PANEL until the
person you are working SOUNDS RIGHT! Just because Im not on an even number that
has 3 zeros after the second period doesn't mean I am "off frequency"!

After the third one, I got tired of using RIT and I just ignored those calling
more than 1 kiloHertz above or below my frequency. If you wanna work me, you're
gonna have to tune to me when I'm running.

Interesting, I've NEVER been told I am "off frequency" by any other
operators EXCEPT Americans and Canadians. Seems to be an endemic problem within
this hemisphere.

I had the pleasure of being called by 9A5Y and my friends at Jan Hus Radio Club
in Daruvar, Croatia, for a short chat. Now it's my turn to hunt you guys down in
the next one!
