Hello from Honolulu, Hawaii! I used my KX2 and a couple of different antennas,
at a couple different parks.

I operated from 2 different locations (Ala Moana / Magic Island Beach Park, and
a park in Kakaako), using 2 different antennas, depending on the weather: a
hustler on top of my car when it was raining (or likely to), and a 1/4 wave 20m
ground plane antenna made with a fishing pole and spare wire. Bob NH6O joined
me at the park for some of the contest, we operated separately (he had his
antenna and KX3, I had my KX2 and my antennas).

I had a self inflicted problem: Signals sounded really weak for me near the end
of the contest, and it was nearly impossible for me to make contacts. After
about 1.5 hours of this, turned around to look at my antenna, and the wire had
fallen down off the fishing pole! I know exactly when it happened, that's when
the SWR got all wonky and I had to retune. K8LX (on 15m) and K5TA (on 10m), you
guys have excellent ears - you worked me, with my 5W, with my antenna on the
ground. :-)

Things sounded so much better when I got my antenna back up. Hihi!

Since most of my contacts were on 20m, opted to enter just that. I worked 29
stations, 20 of them on 20m.

Anyways, I had a lot of fun! Looking forward to the next contest :-)

Aloha es 72

Heather
