Comments:
After several days of preparing the station, I found myself having infinite SWR
on 20m in the second hour of the contest, which turned out to be a stub. Again,
a similar issue happened when I moved to 80m a couple of hours later (I had been
running without problems on Thursday night). In this case, it was a faulty PL
connector. It took me some time to figure out and fix all of the problems, and I
seriously considered to abandon.
But Julio (EA3AIR), came to the rescue and convinced me not to. And lucky me I
didn't! After these incidents happened, the contest continued smoothly until the
end. I had a lot of fun, especially during the 10/15 meters run on Saturday
afternoon.
On a different matter, I ended up with 372 dupes. I even had around 20-25 dupes
in a row in 20m on Sunday afternoon. After the contest, I found myself announced
in a variety of ways, like EF5T, ER6T, or even N6T (yes, many EU also tried to
contact me). I chose to operate in 2BSIQ, so I repeated my callsign in most of
the QSOs. This brings me to the conclusion that many people simply blindly
believe what the cluster says, without checking. Please, LISTEN.
My congratulations to Nathan (N4YDU @ TI7W), Filipe (CT1ILT @ CR6K), and Tibi
(OM3RM @ CR3DX). It was very nice to follow your scores online, very good job,
guys!
Finally, thanks to everyone who called, especially those who QSYed for new
multipliers. And of course, many thanks to Vicenç (EA6FO), and very especially
to Julio (EA3AIR) and his wife Patro for their hospitality and their help
before, during, and after the contest.
