Comments:

Flex setup with 6600, PGXL, TGXL and 8x2 switch. JK Mid Tri 40 and JK Mid Tri on
100ft tower. Spiderbeam at 40ft for mutipliers. Home made 35ft high beam from 8
lb carbon fiber mast and 2 lb of carbon fiber fishing poles. For Caribbeans and
SA the beam was doing well.

I hoped to reach a 2.5k QSOs barrier but no luck due to deteriorating conditions
especially on Sunday afternoon. Run frequencies were relatively easy to find. I
resisted multiplier hunting and focused on running. Got even short runs of JA on
40m.  I feel that my score is reasonable given the conditions and my skills.

The Flex gear made me a nervous wreck. First, phantom "interlock"
messages popped up on screen, shutting transmit. Power cycle PGXL and TGXL, and
the messages were gone. Then various other messages were appearing and gone,
like too much input power and excessive SWR, all spurious. After calling JA and
getting no answers it turned out that the antenna switch was switching from a JA
beam to SE beam for transmit, all by itself. It did it many times but then I
was watching.

Finally during a very nice run, the signal from
the radio became scratchy to a point where getting callsigns was impossible.
After cycling everything, it ended when Flex 6600 was powered down completely
(power cord out) and up.

The spots from the cluster had many errors. I set up a Skimmer in Flex but it
crashed and could not be restarted without rebooting the computer. Next time I
will have a Skimmer set up separate from the Flex.
