[AMPS] GE roller inductor

I don't want to start another debate, but must disagree with the
statement below:

	I cannot say if it was indeed a copper shortage during WW2;
however, this is not the reason to build the roller inductor with solid
silver wire. The real reason is to ensure a solid contact between the
wire and the roller, which should be also made of solid silver. This
contact must be maintained in adverse environmental conditions, such as
marine use.

	I used such roller inductors, of our own design, for shortwave
antenna adapters (military use), during my years as a R&D engineer. We
tried silver plated wire first, with bad results. The only solution
proved to be solid silver, still cheaper than a bank of fixed inductors,
switched by HV relays. I think we re-invented the wheel, so to speak,
thus proving again that nothing new is under the sun, at least in our
domain of interest.

	Just a minor correction.
