In answer to all those who e-mailed ( sorry I haven't replied - been off
work with 'flu since last Wednesday), I have got hold of G6JP, and he's
trying to get the details of the paper presented at the IEE on
'Arc-over'. George is 90 years old, effectively blind, and being a
widower, lives on his own, so it's not that simple for him to dig out
references.

I'll keep you informed.
