Any failure that can't be explained as one absolute cause is ALWAYS a 
parasitic. Come to think of it EVERY failure must be from a 
parasitic, because the Chinese use crappy glass in 3-500's, and when 
it melted it was supposedly "from a parasitic". 


In one article, it is described that a tube ON STANDBY will suffer or 
produce catastrophic failure because a high energy photon comes down 
from space and strikes the cathode, sending the tube that was on 
standby into a parasitic fit and wiping out the PA. Not taking any 
chances, I now store my tubes in purified lead boxes (I don't want 
any radioactive materials to ruin the tubes) to prevent these photon 
torpedos from outer space from wiping out the tubes.

I suppose the next thing is water in a glass will never evaporate 
unless it boils, and metal will never erode or migrate unless it 
"boils" .
