In a VHF amplifier design, it is even more important to locate C-tune
close to the anode(s). In the MLA-2500, C-tune is located at the front
of the chassis while the amplifier tubes are located at the rear of the
chassis. It is my opinion that a serious relocation and electrical mod
job is in order.

Adding tuned input is Definitely easier with single band operation. //
The current C-tune has too much min-C for a 6m design, however, it might
work for C-load. I would be looking for an approx. 30pF unit for C-tune.
I have a few available at the price of shipping.
