The overkill screen supply tends to kill tubes.  A 400v shunt regulator 
made from a string of 20v 5w zeners would fix the problem.  The 
RCA-recommended RF-NFB R in the cathode is a good idea.  The stock bias 
supply can be replaced with a simpler, more reliable circuit.  Better 
suppressors and glitch protection might be nice.  I have a diagram of the 
revisions if you are interested.
