[AMPS] IC-730/SB-200 ALC

Hi Charlie,

Your Icom 730 won't be able to overdrive the SB200. Just tune it up properly
for each frequency you operate on and you'll see about 500-600 watts out
with good tubes and about 100 watts drive.

ALC is especially good if you have an exciter capable of lots of drive power
like a Yaesu 1000D that has 200 watts and you sometimes forgett o turn down
the drive from barefoot at full power to using the amp.

However this is not your case.
Apply a small amount of drive (10-20 watts) and tune for max output then
apply full drive and quickly touch up for max output.
Be certain you're on the right band and antenna first!

You'll be just fine
