Hello,

I have a couple of 8877 VHF amplifiers. They will put out 1500 watts and =
are tunable from 135-174 MHz.
I would be willing to trade one for a NICE HF amp (160-10 MTRS).=20

Here's the scoop on the VHF amps:

I acquired two of them. They came out of some high power transmitters. =
The transmitters had a
low power exciter, a medium power amp and a high power amp. A friend =
wanted the medium
power amps (4CX250) and I got the high power ones. I have one on the air =
now. It works very
nicely. Both of these amps were on the air and working when taken out of =
service. They were
not used very often so there is not a lot of time on the tubes.

Here's the catch:

The amp requires some rewiring. Since it came out of a transmitter, it =
has interlocks that went
to other units that aren't there anymore (the med power amp and the =
exciter), a time delay relay
needs to be installed (there was one integrated into the exciter) and it =
 needs T/R relays installed.
Also a small 12-14 volt power supply needs to be installed in the power =
supply cabinet to run the
power relays witch are integrated into the interlock wiring. I set one =
of them up in a couple of
days without much difficulty. I have all of the parts needed to get it =
on the air. The time delay
relay is a very nice one with a dial on the top to select the delay. The =
coaxial relays are
Dowkey.

This is a very heavy duty amp. The power supply cabinet weighs about 150 =
lbs. Its says 200 on
the front of the unit, but I don't think it weighs quite that much. It =
requires a 19 inch rack mount
cabinet (which I don't have).=20

As you can see, it needs a good home.... Its obvious that it can't be =
shipped. I live in Southern
Maryland (Lexington Park) and would be willing to meet someone half way =
as long as its a one
day trip.=20

If posting stuff for trade on this reflector is not acceptable, please =
email me privately.

Thanks for reading this.
