Brian,
Yes. I had an AL-811 in the shack for around a year (also an 811H). I tried
running 572Bs in both amps, three in the 811 and four in the 811H. Results:
The amp did no better with the 572Bs. The Ep on these is right on target for
the 811As at ~ 1800 volts. This is pretty low for 572Bs?? I saw the same
amount of o/p pwr with the 572 as with the 811. I also believe that this amp
is somewhat power supply limited quite similar to the Dentron Cliperton-L. I
think the plate xmfr is marginal at best.

In contrast, my HA-10 Warrior puts out 200 watts more suds using four 572Bs
than with the 811As. Of course it uses a choke input filter scheme, The Ep
only drops 175 from no load to full load. And this is on a 120 vac main!!
Kudos to the green team in their power supply design.

Run the AL811 with the original intent of three 811As and you should see
around 500 watts out per bands with the exception of 160 where it tapers
down somewhat. Folks are running their 811s at 700 watts which it will do
but you will kill the tubes quickly. Watch ur Ig.

See ya'
