[AMPS] AL82 vs AL1200

I friend of mine is getting ready to buy a legal limit amp for the radio
club at work and has his eyes on the Ameritron AL82. Can anyone
comment on the AL82 vs the AL1200. The amp will be used in a 
club environment where it will be exposed to operators of widely
varying technical savvy, so factors like idiot proofness (I can see 
the grid current meter now) and tube replacement cost are relevant. 
The other relevant factors are gain (both the club's exciters are 100W 
max output) and IMD performance, and perhaps blower noise.
