It shouldn't tarnish anyone's reputation because one circuit or 
theory offered is a bust. No one understands everything about 
everything.

For example, Collins had a spotless reputation of good designs, 
yet they somehow came up with a goofy idea that lifting the grids 
of a GG triode class AB2 PA with high reactance capacitors added 
"negative" feedback.

If you analyze the operation of a circuit like that, you find the 
feedback changes with band, tuning, drive level, and even through 
the RF cycle.

The idea was an excellent for an AB1 class GG tetrode, but was 
horribly misapplied to AB2 triodes where it functions totally different.

Pointing out a circuit shortfall is not like calling someone's mother 
a dirty name, it's part of the learning curve.
