Off subject from Mr Lyles off subject so xcuse please.

Has anyone taken a recent look at the old National Radio HR0-500 RX ?
5KHz (yes) to 30 MHz and the combination of LC VFO and discrete component
PLL equals very low phase noise. This is a 1963 or so design. The RF
front end overload performance is poor by modern standards but that can
probably be an easy fix with new devices. The basic HRO-500 can be found
under $1000 and the 5-500KHz LF-10 preselector is around $200; non
collector quality are much less.

I use my unmodified one regularly to SWL since the TS-830 "dont do it"
and the TS-930 is broke again.
