[AMPS] Power supply question

I am planning the power supply for my amp. One problem is that I have a 115v
blower (draws 1 amp) and a 115v filament transformer (about 1.3 amps), and I'm
possibly going to move overseas where only 240v is available. I was thinking
about using a plate transformer with a dual voltage primary, and connecting the
blower across one half of it and the transformer across the other half. The
whole primary, of course, would be connected to 240v.

The idea is that the plate transformer primary would serve as an of
autotransformer so that the voltage across the blower and filament transformer
primary would be the same. Since the tubes are 3-500Z's, it's OK to turn on the
filament and plate voltage together.

Is this a good idea? If not, I'll have to use a stepdown transformer to operate
the 115v stuff.
