[AMPS] WTD: HP spectrum analyser spares

On behalf of an amateur here in ZS I am looking a replacement 1st Mixer assy for a
HP8555A
rf plug-in.  The model covers 10 MHz to 18 GHz and uses harmonic mixing.  Seems his mixer
has high conversion loss and poor intermod.  I guess someone "fried" the mixer diode or
transistor.  Looking in the sevice manual it states that the mixer is factory repairable.

 Does anyone know if you can open the assy and swap out the diode for a new one - and if
so what is a good replacement.

Sorry for the slightly off topic, but the ham in question is one of the leading eme
operators in ZS and I would like to help him if possible.
