Simple enough.  The cathode lead of the amplifier is brought over to the
un-used center TPDT contacts of the T/R relay.  A 50K 5 watt resistor is
paralleled with the cathode leads soldered on relay connections. Use the
Normally open contact and the  wiper.  
This lead is between the cathode and the bias zener diode.

The idea is to short out the 50K resistor in the transmit position with
the added relay contacts.  In standby/receive mode, the 50K resistor
greatly reduces the current draw.

Aside from the resistor, there's almost no additional cost to add this
modification which extends tube life.
