My advice is avoid UPS ground.   Second Day UPS has a different handling 
system that is usually less destructive.  If you ship a vac variable, use 
a large box and put the packing pellets in taped-shut plastic grocery 
bags so that they can not shift during transportation.  Otherwise, the 
vac variable can wind up in contact with the bottom of the shipping box - 
 where it is more subject to damage.
