Conrad says:

	>here's a little table that gives the equivalent swg (standard wire
>guage) awg (american wire guage) to metric measurements

The 'equivalence' that Conrad gives between the American B & S wire gauge
and SWG is only approximate - in some cases itis almost exact, while in
others, it can be a considerable percentage difference. When close winding,
this can give a problem. Conrad's figures are the exact conversion from SWG
to metric. Note these figures are for bare wire, and enamelled is a little
thicker - about 70 to 100 micometres, depending on thickness and enamel.
