It's a pity you didn't rather use the audio gain to set the output at
the required PEP?
Tests such as this are linked to the old adage "linearity must be
maintained", ALC is a form of compression.
Possibly the results would have been much better, and would have
contributed to a previous debate about NOT using ALC, in normal use, to
set the RF output . Seems that some designers rely on the operator
setting PEP, and ALC is a last ditch before blow-up.
