[AMPS] Any easy/inexpensive way to get some power on 12.5cm band?

I'm starting to see some surplus 12.5cm receiveing stuff and wonder if
anyone here is playing with modulation schemes and frequency control of
microwave oven magnetrons. AM shouldn't be too difficult but this is a nice
band
for digital stuff.
