[AMPS] SB-1000 Transformer vs. AL-80A(B)

Hi All,
I am working on an SB-1000 that has a toasted transformer.  I have heard
that the transformer from an AL-80B(A) will work in it.  Is this true?  If
so, the Ameritron transformer is still available at a decent price.
