The self-neutralizing frequency of an 8877 with properly grounded 
grid is several hundred MHz. I suppose the tube might be "likely" to 
oscillate up there  if conditions are right.

What makes a parasitic "intermittent"? The stage either has 
enough regenerative feedback, or it does not. All you have to do is 
duplicate the feedback conditions, and you will have a repeatable 
oscillation.
