This is very true. A very similar effect is not uncommon when repairing PC
boards - a component is replaced and the board works, while the original
component tests (and is) good. The problem has been a bad solder joint. I still
find myself amazed by how many bad solder joints there can be on a machine
assembled PC board , or perhaps it's joints that go bad with time.
