It seems like a good reason to me, what does a CBer need with an amp?

It also occurs to me that there was, once upon a time, a Part 95 that
spelled out the fact that the CB spectrum excluded amps ... oh yeah, CBers
are above the law ... they took their lead from the Freemen hence
"Freeband"ers
