Bryan - Specifically, what problems did you have?  We still sell low VHF 
Q parasitic suppressor retrofit kits.  Info is on my Web site.  If our 
kit doesn't stop the parasitic problem, it is free.  However, some 
reading and soldering are needed.  Also, there could be related problems 
that need to be fixed before ''firing up''.  .  Shorted tubes and burned 
bandswitches are fairly common  /   /  //  A caveat-  If you disconnect  
the +110vdc PS from the bias contacts on the relay, a g/fil. shorted tube 
will not be able to melt down the (unfused) filament transformer.
